We seek to encourage sustainable tourism policy within Wolfen Mill Country Retreats. Our green holiday cottages submit to the policies of Green Lantern, the North West’s environmental policy group. We have undergone inspection and environmental reviews through them and seek to meet their demands where ever possible. We have also been members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Our efforts have been recognised by the 'Be Inspired Business Awards' 2008 being awarded the Environmental business of the Year.
At Wolfen Mill we Recycle of glass, plastics, tins and paper . All properties have waste caddies for composting within our 'Green Cones' which can handle all food waste types.
Low energy lighting is used as possible we monitor closely all energy usage. We make use of fair trade supplies of tea and coffee and provide only Eco friendly cleaners within the properties.
You will find details of local walks, local food suppliers and local pubs and restaurants whilst staying with us which we hope will enrich your experience of our local area and help you enjoy your stay with us.
Your properties are heated using an highly efficient oil fired boiler with all radiators fitted with thermostatic valves which you can adjust to suit your comfort but allowing you to reduce the heating whilst you are out of the property as you required.
